What is Florfenicol?
Florfenicol is an antibiotic that produces broad-spectrum bacterial inhibition through inhibition of peptidyl transferase activity. It has a broad antibacterial spectrum, including various Gram-positive and negative bacteria and mycoplasma. Sensitive bacteria include Haemophilus, Shigella, Salmonella, E. coli, Pneumococcus, H. influenzae, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus, Chlamydia, Leptospira, Rickettsia, etc. in cattle and pigs.
1. Livestock: It is used to prevent and control asthma, infectious pleuropneumonia, atrophic rhinitis, swine pneumonia, streptococcal disease, etc. It is very effective in preventing and treating dyspnea, elevated body temperature, coughing, choking, reduced food intake and wasting, etc. It is also effective in preventing and treating yellow and white dysentery, enteritis, haemodysentery and oedema in piglets caused by E. coli, etc.
2. Poultry: It is used for the prevention and treatment of cholera, white diarrhoea, diarrhoea in chicks, dilution, stubborn diarrhoea, yellow, white and green stools, watery stools, dysentery, punctate or diffuse bleeding of intestinal mucosa, umbilical infection, encapsulated heart, encapsulated liver, chronic respiratory disease caused by bacteria, mycoplasma, etc., infectious rhinitis, cloudy air sac, cough, tracheal croup, breathing difficulties, etc.
3. Effective against infectious plasma membrane infection, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in ducks.
4. Treatment of bacterial fish diseases.
